Random Update
So I figure I should do these random updates to let everybody know what I’m currently working on and what to look forward to. As such, this is the first, of many, such posts where I’ll give updates on current projects and future plans.
First, I’m still recovering from the craziness of this last month of launching 3 different sites: this one, Blade TV Series, and Watermark Tool. I’m also trying to get back into the swing of things after being pretty sick for a week (103.7 degree fever). I’m slowly, but surely, getting back up to speed with updates.
I plan on doing a few tweaks and updates to those newly launched sites during the next couple of weeks. I’m also planning on doing a small overhaul of the Squirrelinabox Store. It’s really the biggest money maker for me and I love doing designs for it but the site itself could use a bit of work. I’m planning on doing a bit of a design change as well as getting some sort of domain to redirect to it, though I’m not sure when I’ll be making those changes.
For future projects I plan on splitting my time between working on one large project while doing multiple small projects at the same time. Currently the big project I’m working on is phase 2 of the Wii Play website. This will be my first large site once phase 2 is completed (details are still top secret). It’ll be part news site, part social networking site, and part something else. I’m hoping to have it completed by the time Nintendo launches their new Wii console, though the launch date is still unannounced. I expect it to be either late October or early November.
While I’m working on the Wii Play site, I have two or three small new sites I hope to launch. Though I don’t want to give too much away just yet, I will say that one will be a television show blog similar to the Blade site. You’ll just have to wait and see wha the other site(s) might be.
Things are going pretty good and I hope they will keep getting better. I’ll continue to use this site for Squirrelinabox Network news and updates to make sure you check back often.
Watermark Tool Launched!
After some delays, I’ve finally launched my Watermark Tool website. The site is a simple free watermark generation tool for people to quickly and easily place watermarks on their images. The site is currently in BETA so it’s not quite complete yet, though it is completely functional.
If you don’t know what a watermark is, basically it’s an image or bit of text that is placed on top of another image to either protect that image from stealing, or to just brand it with your name, company, and/or logo. Many watermark their works manually by using an image editor such as Photoshop, but that can be tedious and may not be a viable solution for those without such programs. I’ve made this new site so that people can easily place watermarks on their images without any of those worries.
The current features allow you to enter the text, color, transparency, and angle of the watermark as well as allowing you to specify whether or not to place a box or stripe behind the text. If the site proves to be popular, I’ll likely add many more features to it.
So, if you’ve got some images you want watermarked, head on over to the Watermark Tool now!
Slow Weekend
Well, I know I mentioned launching two sites last week and I only launched one. I do have a good excuse though. I had a fever of 103 the entire weekend and I really couldn’t think straight enough to do any work. As such, I’ve postponed launching the new site to hopefully sometime this week.
Also, since I wasn’t able to get much don’t this last weekend, I may not have as many updates for my existing sites as I had wanted. Hopefully I can catch up quickly, though weekends are when I do most of my work since I have a full time job during the week.
