Lots of Better Movie Manager News

It's been awhile since I've posted anything but that's because I've been hard at work with Better Movie Manager. What started as a free, ad-supported WP7 app is now also a website as well as a paid, ad-free WP7 app.

Of course, the free WP7 app still exists and will continue to be updated. In fact, it was just updated with the much requested online backup feature. From your phone, you can create an account for BetterMovieManager.com so that all your movie data will be synchronized and backed up automatically online. This means you can share your data across multiple phones as well as recover all your movie data in case you uninstall the app or get a new phone.

In building the online backup capability, I decided to go the extra mile and create a companion website so that people can show off their movie collections online as well as allow those who don't have a Windows Phone to be able to create and manage their movie collections.

Pocket Party Game Released for WP7

Are you a fan of party games like charades, password, and pictionary? If so, you'll probably want to check out my newly released Windows Phone 7 application Pocket Party Game.

With over 600 words and phrases, Pocket Party Game challenges you to draw, gesture, and describe your way to victory. Each category also comes with its own twists - like making you do charades with just one arm or having you draw blindfolded - so you better be on your toes.

The game is currently $1.99 for the full version with a free trial available that has all the features of the paid version except that you are limited to 50 words instead of 600+.

Redesign, Twitter, WP7, and More!

While it's been some time since I've posted news, there have been quite a few changes to the Squirrelinabox Network since my last post. I've launched new sites, post big updates to existing sites, and have even ventured into mobile development. Let me dive into a few of those bigger updates below.

First, the most obvious change is this site has had a major redesign. The old design was meant to be a temporary one and ended up being a lot more permanent then I would have liked. With the new design I've also hidden a lot of the smaller projects as well as projects that are kind of in a "hibernation" mode.

Second, you'll see from the navigation at the top that I now have a mobile section. Yup, that's right. I'm now one of those thousands of sheep that have jumped onto the mobile bandwagon. As of right now (and the foreseeable future) Squirrelinabox mobile applications are all developed excusively for Windows Phone 7. Why WP7? Well, mainly because developing for that platform means I can use a lot of the same technologies I've been using for developing websites.

Third, I finally released the new version of Home Poker System a few months back. The new version brought with it a bunch of new features as well as a new "Pro" version.

Fourth, I'm on Twitter! That's right, I've finally broken down and created a Twitter account. I plan on using the account to announce all updates to the various Squirrelinabox websites and mobile applications as well as give some sneak peeks at new projects that aren't public yet. So if you want to stay up-to-date on everything Squirrelinabox, be sure to follow me.

As always, there's an even bigger list of projects I'm working on behind-the-scenes. I have a couple different WP7 applications that I hope to release within the next month or two. I have some big updates to existing websites that I hope to roll out slowly through the end of this year.

100,000 Watermarks Generated With Watermark Tool

It's official! Over 100,000 watermarks have been generated over at Watermark Tool. The site was re-launched in it's current form less than two years ago and since then, it's popularity has grown substantially.

While the 100,000 watermarks are mostly generated from the free version of the website, more and more are starting to move over to the $4.95 per month WMT Plus! membership that allows for even more advanced functionality and personalization options.

Even though new features have recently been launched, more are constantly being worked on so be sure to check back often for any new updates.

Watermark Tool Launches WMT Plus!

For those looking for advanced features and extra watermarking options, WMT Plus! is now available for a low monthly subscription. New features include an increased file size limit of 10MB per file, the ability to apply an image watermark (such as your logo), and the ability to save your watermark settings for future use.

The free version of Watermark Tool will continue to be available and has had the fize size limit increased to 200KB per file.

Squirrelinabox Media is Reborn

Squirrelinabox Technologies is now Squirrelinabox Media. Besides the name change, the other obvious change is the new design of this website. The new look and feel represents the new look of Squirrelinabox Media as well as having a better layout for discovering the various websites that make up the Squirrelinabox Network.

If you're new to Squirrelinabox Media, the about page would probably be a great place to start as it details what Squirrelinabox Media is all about. The about page also includes a brief F.A.Q. section for some quick facts regarding the company and network of sites.

For those interested in advertising options, each website in the network details what's available. You may also use the contact form for all your advertising questions.
