Net Morality Launches!

Net Morality, the newest site added to the Squirrelinabox Network has just launched so head on over and check it out. Interested on the latest news and information dealing with the shadier side of the internet? Net Morality is your place! Don’t head on over expecting to learn how to hack and scam your way around the internet though as the site is geared towards informing the “good guys” by exposing some of the dark secrets out there. The latest morally questionable tech news will be tackled as well, such as the latest eBay lawsuit.

Basically, the site will be another tech news blog that will focus on the seedier side of the Web while giving me a platform to rant and rave (I mean editorialize) some issues I feel need attention. Some future topics will cover things like MySpace scams, splogs, get rich eBooks, and more. I plan on taking each topic and exposing the motivations behind the darkside, so be sure to subscribe to the feed so that you don’t miss anything.

Advertise on Watermark Tool for a Buck

Chitika recently launched a new direct ad sales program that allows publishers to place some code on websites that enable potential advertisers to quickly and easily purchase adspace.

I’m trying this out on Watermark Tool to see how it goes. I currently have 2 125×125 adspots available in fairly prominent positions. You can check out the details here, where you’ll be able to see that each spot is going for the low, low price of $1 a day.

Depending on how well it goes, I’ll likely expand to using Chitika for direct ad sales on other sites. Being able to let Chitika manage it all is fantastic as I don’t really have time for selling adspace right now.

Watermark Tool Surpasses 10,000 Watermarks Generated!

I guess people really like free tools because the Watermark Tool has recently surpassed 10,000 watermarks generated. That’s a pretty subsantial number considering those numbers are from January of this year. It’s pretty cool to see so many people using the tool, especially when it started out as just one of those side projects that you do just because you can - without really thinking about it’s potential popularity. Hopefully I can get around to adding even more great features to the site once I take care of a few other projects first.

Office Humor Blog Redesign Complete

I’ve talked about how badly Office Humor Blog needed a redesign - well, I’ve finally done it. The design isn’t very flashy, but hopefully it’s a little easier on the eyes with the content more readily accessible. I’ve added a few new features - such as displaying recent comments on the sidebar - and plan on adding a few more these next few weeks.

Along with the redesign, I’ve finally upgraded to the latest Wordpress version, so hopefully it’ll run a bit smoother as well. Of course, by combining the redesign with the upgrade, I’ve opened it up to the possibility of more bugs, but hopefully those all get straightened out these next few days.

Blank Fill Web Game Launches

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you Blank Fill - a fill-in-the-blank Web game with a social twist. Each week day, a new “blank fill” will be posted for you to fill out and compare with the rest of the world.

So what is a blank fill? It’s really just a sentence with a blank for you to fill out. The first one Places You’ve Never Been reads “I’ve never been to [BLANK] but I would love to visit some day.” It’s a pretty simple one to start things off so that people can get a feel for how it works. Why not head on over and try it out and see what kind of crazy answers people are giving and see how your own stacks up.
